25 Well Designed Church/Religious Organization Sites

Are you new to Designerside? You should subscribe to our RSS feed so you can keep up with our great content. Thanks for stopping by!

Unfortunately the majority of sites for churches and religious organizations are horribly designed…either because of really low budgets or because they get had by some sleazy company who charges a lot for horrible design.

As of late, though, a lot of these organizations have come around and are started to put more effort in to their websites.

Below is a gallery of sites for churches and religious organizations that are setting the bar higher and can serve as inspiration for both church and non-church sites.

Great selection, Josh! But I tend to disagree with your first paragraph. Most of the church sites I saw had a very modern design, along the lines of the ones you found. But wait… maybe that’s because I found them in various CSS galleries. :)

Hi Josh, thanks for putting our site up there. We have so much to learn still. I for one don’t mind sharing that our site costs us nothing to maintain other than a monthly web hosting fee. Content is updated by staff who use TextPattern.

The entire project from start to finish cost us about $6,000. Ironically that was what we used to spend per year keeping our old site updated and we used to be VERY frustrated at the time it took to update things.

Since $6,000 is definitely too much money for a smaller church we advise those who ask us to pursue a WordPress site or to work with a company that has templates.

I don’t think we’d spend even half of $6,000 on a re-design though since much of our initial work was setup. Of course, I don’t have a budget for re-design right now and the site is 1 year old and it is bugging me.

Nice collection of sites. I’d also recommend the LDS Church’s site http://www.lds.org . It is visually appealing, and extremely rich in content.
